Vehicle is a 52 Pontiac 2 dr. Chieftain Deluxe 8 cyl.
with Hydra-Matic trans.
The vehicle is owned by me, Howard Little, the Webmaster of this site.
I did most of the work at home except for installing the Front IFS suspension,
rear springs and brake pedal which were installed by Street Rod Engineering.
I am a retired but never worked in the automotive field so its learn as you go!

I removed all the sheet metal, doors etc. I then
used 2 engine hoist to lift the
body off the frame. The rear hoist has a 2"x 6" board under the gas
tank area
using the two holes that were already in the trunk. I got it just high enough to
roll the body out. You can see the metal I used to support the body. After
removing the body, I lowered it back down for safety. I used a 1970
Mustang 8" rear axle that fit without any alterations. (Later I changed
to
a spring kit from Street Rod Engineering) The stock springs were not only
very thin but were set at an angle in the frame.
